What is So Special About Our Hardware?

InstantPOS 2007 does not require the fastest computers available; a 2.5 gigahertz processor is more than adequate. However, it does require a quality motherboard, hard drive and network connection that can handle the type of input/output a program such as InstantPOS 2007 uses. Unfortunately, there is no 'spec' or standard that will indicate that.

Our hardware recommendations are based on 20 years experience in the POS business and the problemes we have solved over those years. For example, the motherboard in inexpensive computers can cost as little as $30. The motherboards we use are manufactured by Intel and cost us more than $100 each. We also use fast SATA hard drives, Kingston memory and high quality power supplies. We only use XP Pro, not XP Home or Media Center. That license is significantly more expensive, however, it is also more appropriate for business use.
